berlin, berlin, we're going to berlin!
i study fashion communication & promotion and as part of the second year of our studies, we have been given the opportunity to visit germany's thriving capital - berlin.
the city is said to constantly change and grow, 'paris is always paris and berlin is never berlin!' as it was once famously put by jack lang, french former culture minister. berlin is one of the most technological, interesting and modern cities in the world. over recent years, tons of cool artists, designers, collectives and projects have emerged from here, making it the perfect city to explore.
as a german national, studying in the uk, i have visited berlin on a number of occasions, however i am blissfully unaware of the independent art and fashion scene, as previous visits have been very tourist attraction based. i have visited the brandenburg gate, the holocaust memorial, the reichstag and had a look around the luxurious kadewe (kaufhaus des westens) but i've never visited a tradeshow, took an alternative city tour or paid attention to all the street art that berlin has to offer.
this blog will enable me to capture everything i see, learn, discover, eat, drink and breathe in berlin starting 13th january, so expect an enormous amount of photos and adventures coming your way.
